Reporting a problem with a listing

Send the name of the fund and what's wrong. A closed round still showing. A dead link. A changed amount. An eligibility detail that doesn't match the funder's page. A link to the funder's current page helps a lot.

Suggesting a fund

If you know of funding available to Māori that isn't listed, send the link to the official page. Iwi and hapū grants are the hardest to find and the most useful to add.

If you administer funding

Send us your opportunity and we will list it. There is no cost and no catch. Tōku Waka exists so that Māori can find what already exists, and a fund nobody knows about helps nobody.

What is useful to send:

• The name of the fund and a link to the page on your own website
• Who can apply, including any whakapapa, residency or entity requirements
• What is available, and when the round opens and closes
• Whether it runs on a repeating cycle, so it can be listed year-round rather than disappearing between rounds

Everything is checked against your own page before it goes up. That is the standard the directory runs on, and it applies to funds you send us the same as funds we find ourselves. If your page changes, tell us and we will re-check it.

What we can and can't do

Ask us anything about the directory. If you're not sure which fund fits, or whether something applies to your situation, get in touch. We'll point you at the right listing or tell you honestly if we don't know.

What we can't do is tell you whether you'll be successful, review your application, or advocate to a funder on your behalf. For that, go to the funder directly. Most have someone whose job is exactly that, and they would far rather hear from you before you apply than after.

About the web address

The site lives at tōkuwaka.com, with the macron. Some systems can't handle a macron in a web or email address, so tokuwaka.co.nz works too and brings you to the same place. Both are ours. If you see the address written as xn--tkuwaka-5lb.com that is the same domain in the plain-text form the internet uses behind the scenes, not a different site.
