Before you apply

Named for Whaimutu Dewes (Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Rangatahi), honouring his service to the Māori fishing industry from the Crown settlement and the establishment of Aotearoa Fisheries, through directorships and chairmanship of both Moana New Zealand and Sealord. Apply online at moana.co.nz/scholarship, or by posting the paper form to Moana New Zealand, PO Box 445, Shortland Street, Auckland 1140. Contact comms@moana.co.nz.

Moana New Zealand trades as Aotearoa Fisheries Limited, one of the three entities established under the Māori Fisheries Act 2004 that Te Ohu Kaimoana appoints directors to — the other two are Te Wai Māori Trust and Tapuwae Roa (formerly Te Pūtea Whakatupu Trust), both listed separately, as is Te Ohu Kaimoana's own Global Fisheries Scholarship.
