Before you apply

Applied for by the parent or caregiver, not the child. The fund complements what is already happening in the classroom and pays for tuition outside school hours — a teacher aide is explicitly not funded. Whānau choose their own accredited provider, and tuition can be delivered online anywhere in the motu. On the form, an accredited tutoring organisation is not the same thing as a private tutor, so check which box applies before ticking. Running since 1994, when it began as after-school maths tuition in Ōtautahi and Ōtepoti.
