Before you apply

Unusually broad on what it will cover: salaries, training, administration, office expenses, rent and utilities, promotion and small capital items — most council funds exclude operating costs. Will not fund: religious, ministry or political activity; debt repayment; legal and medical expenses; public services that are central government's responsibility (e.g. education, primary health care); alcohol purchases; retrospective costs; or large physical works needing consents (funds released once conditions are met); or services delivered outside the district. Urgent requests outside a round can go to the next council meeting if submitted two weeks beforehand and the need is critical within four to six weeks. Unsuccessful applicants can request feedback and reapply. Contact grants@tararuadc.govt.nz.
