Whakapaupakihi 6 & 7 Trusts — Tertiary Education Grants
Whakapaupakihi 6 & 7 Trusts / Perpetual Guardian
Tertiary grants for the owners of the Whakapaupakihi 6 and 7 blocks and their descendants.
Before you apply
The same shape as Otama Marere Trust, also listed here — a Māori land trust whose education grant is administered by Perpetual Guardian and applied for through the Māori Education Trust portal. Two administrators between you and the pūtea, which is why these are so hard to find.
Check whether your whānau hold owner interests through Māori Land Online, owner interest tab. If you do, apply through the Māori Education Trust rather than to Perpetual Guardian directly — and tick every other MET scholarship you qualify for in the same application, since only one is awarded but there is no penalty for applying widely.
Perpetual Guardian is New Zealand’s largest trustee for charitable trusts and distributes over $40 million a year. Their grants schedule is published and updated through the year, and some trusts run on multi-year cycles — several are next scheduled to open in 2027 — so a trust that looks closed may simply be between rounds.
