Before you apply

Requires a Muriwhenua Whakapapa Form endorsed by a kaumātua from the applicant's marae, proof of iwi registration and enrolment, an academic transcript, student ID, CV and a referee, plus three short-answer questions (max 150 words each). Successful recipients get one-on-one mentoring from a qualified kaiako, a group wānanga, and access to Ngāti Kahu te reo Māori classes. Administered by Ngāti Kahu on behalf of the wider Muriwhenua collective, so it's not limited to Ngāti Kahu registration alone — worth checking against Te Aupōuri, Ngāi Takoto, Te Rarawa and Ngāti Kurī records too so it isn't missed under those iwi.
