Before you apply

An unusual mechanic worth planning around: the forms are handed out at the hui-ā-tau and wānanga, and whānau must be present to apply. You cannot do it from home in advance. So getting to the first hui is on you, and the subsidy helps with the ones after it.

Corrected 9 September 2026: this record was previously mislabelled as Taranaki's Ngāti Tama — ngatitama.nz belongs to Ngāti Tama ki Te Waipounamu of Te Tau Ihu (Nelson/Marlborough), a distinct iwi from Taranaki's Ngāti Tama. A Travel Subsidy Form is linked from the funder's grants page.
