Before you apply

This is Raukawa in the Waikato, not Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga. The Raukawa Charitable Trust is based in Tokoroa and serves registered Raukawa uri. Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, based at Ōtaki, is a separate iwi with its own organisations.

Eligibility quoted from the application form (https://www.raukawa.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Education-Grant-_-Short-Course-and-Certificate-1.pdf), which covers Short course / Kura Reo / Te Uru Raukawa and Certificate / Postgraduate Certificate study, full- or part-time. Applicants can optionally consent to Raukawa sharing their application with the Māori Education Trust for a possible funding top-up.

Worth checking at the same time: the other three Raukawa education grants (degree/masters, doctorate, secondary school), the Kuia and Koroua Wellbeing Grant, and the Raukawa Sports Grant, all listed here.
