Before you apply

The bigger sibling of Waiata Reo Māori — this is for a body of work rather than a single. Two rounds a year, so missing one costs four months rather than twelve.

The stated purpose is contributing to the normalisation and wellbeing of te reo Māori for diverse audiences. Same framing as the single-waiata fund: they are funding the effect on the language as much as the music.

Eligible costs are spelled out: mātanga reo (a reo Māori consultant), studio engineer, music producer, music director, session musicians, studio hire, mixing, mastering, video asset creation, publicist and campaign services. Other reasonable costs may be considered.
