Fully committed since 2023-24 and Te Puni Kōkiri have taken the page down. Ask a regional office what has replaced it.
Before you apply
This fund is not taking applications and its page has been removed. Te Puni Kōkiri’s page said the fund was fully committed for the 2023-24 financial year and that they would advise when 2024-25 applications opened. That page was last updated in October 2024 and now returns a 404.
Listed because other sites still describe it as open year-round, which is what our own listing said until 27 August 2026.
It supported Māori freehold landowners with infrastructure on whenua Māori — fencing, waterways, drainage and wastewater, upgrading ageing infrastructure, securing water and energy. If that is what you need, the two places to start are your nearest Te Puni Kōkiri regional office and the Whenua Kōkiri fund finder at tupu.nz, which lists 40 or more funds for developing whenua Māori.
Re-checked 16 September 2026: confirmed Te Ringa Hāpai Whenua Fund is genuinely absent from that tupu.nz list (read the full 40+ entry list directly). The previously-suggested "Whenua Māori Fund" as the closest live equivalent could not be confirmed on that same list either — it doesn't appear under that name. Rather than point at a fund that may no longer exist under that name, the safest doorway is your nearest Te Puni Kōkiri regional office directly.
