$1,500-a-year scholarship, renewable up to 3 years, for Tauranga Iwi with residency in the Tauranga Moana Trust Board area, offered by the Port of Tauranga in memory of Turirangi Te Kani.

Who can apply: Applicants “will have tribal affiliation with Tauranga Iwi and will have been resident (but allowing for schooling or University study outside the area) within the Tauranga Moana Trust Board area for the last five years.” Must provide “evidence of tribal affiliation with only Tauranga Iwi (either Ngāi Te Rangi, or Ngāti Ranganui, or Ngāti Pūkenga)” and a completed Whakapapa Form. Not combinable with the Ngā Mātarae Scholarship in the same year.
Whakapapa: Tribal affiliation with a Tauranga Iwi — Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui or Ngāti Pūkenga — and five years' residency in the Tauranga Moana Trust Board area (schooling or university study elsewhere is allowed for).
Study level: Undergraduate, Postgraduate
Amount: $1,500 per year, with continued eligibility for up to 3 years subject to academic performance and confirmed continuation of study
