Before you apply

Mana whenua and mātāwaka are named as eligible applicants. Māori-led projects have been funded before — E Tū Rākau Charitable Trust’s Resource Lab, a mobile education hub sharing mātauranga Māori approaches to environmental action and creating opportunities for rangatahi. A simplified process for schools and smaller grants was introduced last year, and more than half the grants in the last round were $5,000 or less, so a modest request is realistic.
