Up to $5,000 for rangatahi in Manurewa moving into education, training or employment.
Before you apply
Covers the practical things that stop rangatahi starting — course fees, training programmes, conferences and qualifications, and also work clothing, tools and equipment needed to enter the workforce. Very few funds pay for boots and tools.
First-time applicants are given higher priority, so if you have not had one before, say so. You need a letter of support from a school principal, teacher, tutor, community leader or employer confirming your goals, character and suitability — line that person up early.
If funded you have to carry the Manurewa Local Board logo and the words "funded by" or "part funded by Manurewa Local Board" on any publicity. Strong connection to Manurewa counts as well as living there, so a rangatahi who moved away but grew up there is worth an ask.
