Before you apply

A dedicated council marae fund, separate from Lottery Funding for Community Facilities (which replaced Oranga Marae on 1 July 2026) and from the Creative Communities Scheme. Creative Communities covers new artworks on marae such as tukutuku and whakairo. This one covers the structures themselves. The allocation has grown over time — older council pages still show $15,000 and $20,000, and $25,000 is the figure for 2026 and 2027. Masterton blocks automated requests, so this needs checking in a browser rather than by script. Grants administrator: deannae@mstn.govt.nz.
