Before you apply

This is a representative-level grant, not a participation one. You have to have been selected through a regional or national process to represent Hauraki, the region or New Zealand. For teams, a significant majority of players must whakapapa to Hauraki and be registered for the full grant; where fewer than half do, only a portion is paid. A report on the event or purpose is due to the Board within 8 weeks afterwards. Miss it and you may not be eligible for future grants. Registration is the gate — descent alone is not enough, and the Board states plainly that applications will only be accepted from registered iwi members. Its decision is final and no correspondence is entered into. The Board may require successful applicants to take part in iwi activities as a condition of the grant, and reserves the right to use your name and photo for publicity.
