Before you apply

The amounts are fixed by selection level rather than negotiated, so you know before you apply what it is worth. Written confirmation from the national body, with an outline of the tournament and costs, is required every time.

What it will not fund: selection into school teams, sporting uniform costs, anything already completed before you applied, incomplete applications, and anything the committee thinks would be more appropriately funded from another source.

Preference goes to applications with wide benefit that show how the outcome will be communicated back to Ngāti Tūwharetoa at hapū or iwi level — so say how you will report back to your people, not just what you need. Funding can be withdrawn if you stop communicating with the committee. There is a leadership stream on the same form. Journey Whaiapu, 07 386 8832, ntmdg@tuwharetoa.co.nz.
