One-off project funding for non-profit groups in the Waitaki District. Two rounds a year sharing $75,000.
Before you apply
One-off costs only — ongoing funding is not considered at all, so a running programme has to be framed as a discrete project.
The thing most people miss sits on the same page. There is a separate small pool each year to cover Council fees — road closures and liquor licences — for community groups. It has its own form and you attach it to your application. A marae or rōpū running an event that needs a road closed can have that fee waived rather than paying it out of the grant.
An accountability form is due within six months, with receipts, invoices or signed statements and a report on the benefit. Groups that do not return it are ineligible for any further Waitaki funding, so an unfinished acquittal from a past grant blocks you.
Fill the PDF forms in Adobe Reader rather than a browser — the council warns that browser-filled forms may not save. Apply online or email grantsadmin@waitaki.govt.nz. 03 433 0300.
