Before you apply

Directly relevant to Māori landowners and land trusts. The Māori economy accounts for 11.2 percent of New Zealand's emissions profile while making up 6.4 percent of GDP, because of its high share of pastoral farming — so reporting methodology affects Māori landholdings disproportionately. Priorities include on-farm sequestration data and post-1989 natural forest carbon stock. Applications are explicitly assessed in part on considering Māori perspectives, aspirations and opportunities, alongside value for money, ability to deliver, fit with the fund, impact, and research quality.
