Before you apply

MPI name the situation this suits: whenua that has been leased out for a long time but could come back to owner management. If that is your block, this is the doorway.

On top of the basic criteria a project needs two of three — co-investment whether in-kind or financial, economies of scale, or potential to leverage other support. Work out which two you have before applying.

MPI will test your ideas with you and advise on developing the application before you submit, so the conversation comes first. Start with your local Māori Agribusiness adviser rather than the form — MPI run a regional kaimahi network for exactly this and will help test an idea before you write it up. maoriagribusiness@mpi.govt.nz.
