Before you apply

Eligible costs include “power, water, or rates bills; rent or bond; WOF or essential vehicle repairs; firewood; health-related costs (pharmacy, medical, dental, physio)”. “Funds are paid directly to suppliers, not whānau”, so a quote, invoice or bill is needed. Allow up to two weeks, and contact the team for urgent cases. Alcohol, cigarettes and cash are excluded, as are costs that fall under the Sponsorship Fund. A person can use either Ngā Tini Whetu or the Sponsorship Fund for one kaupapa, not both. Applications on behalf of children under 14 count toward the guardian's annual allocation. “We have a limited number of Ngā Tini Whetu grants to allocate to whānau”, so apply early. info@romst.iwi.nz.
