Fund for events celebrating Māoritanga across Tauranga Moana, pooled from five funders into one application.
Before you apply
One application reaches five funders — TECT, Acorn Foundation, BayTrust, Tauranga City Council and Western Bay of Plenty District Council pooled this rather than making organisers apply separately. Tauranga City Council manages it on their behalf.
There is a second, separate fund for recurring events: the Kaupapa Māori Legacy Event Fund. If your event happens every year, ask which one fits before applying — they are not the same doorway.
The event has to be inside Tauranga City or Western Bay of Plenty boundaries. A post-event report is due within four weeks and it is substantial: an evaluation against the funding values and priorities, a marketing and media summary, high-resolution images, and a profit and loss report with final income and expenditure. Budget time for that, not just for the event.
