Who can apply

Registered Ngāti Toa kaumātua aged 60 or older needing support with dental, hearing or vision care.

Whakapapa

Registered Ngāti Toa Rangatira member with an iwi registration number. Registration requires whakapapa showing three to four generations of connection to Toa Rangatira and a Tupuna Heke, checked by the Whakapapa Committee.

You need a written quote from your dentist, audiologist or optometrist before you apply — the application will not go anywhere without it. Part of Te Kete Hapai. Every one of these needs an iwi registration number, and getting one is not instant — you submit whakapapa over three to four generations back to a Tupuna Heke and the Whakapapa Committee confirms it.
