Who can apply

Registered Ngāti Toa members and recognised Toa sports clubs, to encourage Ngāti Toa participation and achievement in sport. Apply at least a month before the event.

Whakapapa

Registered Ngāti Toa Rangatira member with an iwi registration number. Registration requires whakapapa showing three to four generations of connection to Toa Rangatira and a Tupuna Heke, checked by the Whakapapa Committee.

Before you apply

Open to individual members as well as clubs — the record previously listed only organisations. Late applications cannot be considered at all. Every one of these needs an iwi registration number, and getting one is not instant — you submit whakapapa over three to four generations back to a Tupuna Heke and the Whakapapa Committee confirms it.
