Before you apply

For the rangatahi themselves, not their club — the record previously listed only organisations. The bar is representative level: recognition in the code and a pathway toward national or international selection. General participation goes to the ordinary Sports Grant instead. Every one of these needs an iwi registration number, and getting one is not instant — you submit whakapapa over three to four generations back to a Tupuna Heke and the Whakapapa Committee confirms it. Start that before a deadline, not at one. Lost your number? iwiregistrationadmin@ngatitoa.iwi.nz.
