Before you apply

An essay is required on top of the written statement, so leave time for it. The useful part: unsuccessful scholarship applicants are automatically considered for the He Iti Taku Iti Grant, so one application puts you in front of two pūtea. Every one of these asks for a written statement on how you have contributed, or will contribute, to your hapū, marae and whānau development. That is not a formality here — it appears on every grant and scholarship, so write it once and write it properly. Your programme of study and career aspirations also have to contribute to the objectives of Te Korowai. kawarau@ngaruahine.iwi.nz.
