Before you apply

Preference goes to a māmā returning to work after or while raising her tamariki, and to a māmā studying toi or the teaching of te reo Māori. Part-time study qualifies, which matters when you are raising tamariki at the same time. Every one of these asks for a written statement on how you have contributed, or will contribute, to your hapū, marae and whānau development. That is not a formality here — it appears on every grant and scholarship, so write it once and write it properly. Your programme of study and career aspirations also have to contribute to the objectives of Te Korowai. kawarau@ngaruahine.iwi.nz.
