Up to $250 to remove barriers stopping rangatahi taking part in extracurricular activities.
Before you apply
Previously called He Ōwhiti Kura Hākinakina and Ahurea Grant, so an older pānui in the whānau may use that name. Under 18 only, once a year, and not paid retrospectively — apply before you pay for the boots, the uniform or the trip. You need proof of club or school membership and proof of the expense. Every one of these asks for a written statement on how you have contributed, or will contribute, to your hapū, marae and whānau development. That is not a formality here — it appears on every grant and scholarship, so write it once and write it properly. Your programme of study and career aspirations also have to contribute to the objectives of Te Korowai. kawarau@ngaruahine.iwi.nz.
