$1,500 toward tangihanga for registered owners, their descendants and whānau.
Before you apply
Twelve months from the passing to apply, which is longer than most and means a whānau who did not know at the time has not necessarily missed out. Worth checking back on a tangihanga from earlier in the year.
You need official confirmation of the passing — a death notice, a letter from the hospital, or a confirmed invoice from the funeral home. One grant per person who has passed, so the whānau coordinates rather than each applying.
